A humanitarian network, a global project, a shared commitment to solidarity
Getting involved in voluntary work in Monaco means placing your project within a framework where the values of mutual support, respect and openness to the world are essential. The Principality offers a stable, rigorous and people-centred environment that is conducive to the development of community-based initiatives.
It encourages community involvement through a strong culture of responsibility, transparency and cooperation. It was against this promising backdrop that the association Amitié Sans Frontières Internationale, known by the acronym ASFI, was founded in 1996.
ASFI is based on a simple yet fundamental idea: friendship, when expressed through concrete, shared actions, can become a driving force for social change and a powerful tool for fostering solidarity.
This friendship that knows no bounds is expressed through humanitarian projects, cultural exchanges and concrete commitments to support vulnerable people, in a spirit of respect, dignity and solidarity.

The central association, “Amitié Sans Frontières Internationale“, serves as the network’s governing and coordinating body. It sets out the general strategic direction, ensures compliance with the founding values, and guarantees the overall consistency of activities carried out under the ‘Amitié Sans Frontières’ banner. It has sole authority to grant official recognition to national associations and to oversee their integration into the network.
National associations, known as ‘Amitié Sans Frontières’ followed by the name of the country, are responsible for implementing international strategic guidelines at national level, coordinating activities within their territory and ensuring the consistency of local initiatives. Local community associations carry out solidarity projects at the grassroots level. They tailor their actions to local circumstances and identified needs, whilst adhering to the framework established at national and international levels.
OUR STORY
The movement originated in Monaco in 1991 with the founding of the very first Amitié Sans Frontières club. This club, inspired by the Anglo-Saxon model known as ‘service clubs’, brings members together around humanist values and community-based initiatives.
In 2026, the Amitié Sans Frontières Monaco tennis tournament will celebrate its 31st anniversary, embodying the ASF values more than ever.
DATE TO BE CONFIRMED ASF presents ‘Cabaret Sans Frontières – The Show’ under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.
The Conference, co-hosted by Senegal and the UAE, aims to accelerate the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6), enhance global water governance, and further elevate water-related issues on the international agenda.

Amitié Sans Frontières Internationale (ASFI) is the international body of the ASF network of associations. It coordinates the network’s development, sets strategic priorities and supports humanitarian and solidarity projects around the world.
ASFI’s mission is to support practical humanitarian initiatives aimed at helping people living in precarious circumstances, in vulnerable situations or in crisis.
The movement began in Monaco in 1991 with the founding of the first Amitié Sans Frontières club. The international association ASFI was then established in 1996 to coordinate the network.
The network is structured across three levels: international (ASFI), national (ASF associations by country) and local (community-based associations). Each level works in tandem with the others to ensure consistency and impact.
Yes. ASFI is internationally recognised and has held consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2003.
The projects supported may be humanitarian, social or environmental in nature, with a particular focus on vulnerable people. These initiatives are driven by a spirit of solidarity, friendship between peoples and a commitment to making a tangible difference.
You can support ASF by becoming a donor, a partner, a volunteer, or by taking part in the charity events organised by the network.
